My Story

After my freshman year of college, I realized the marketing degree I had dreamed of was going to require a few more math classes than I cared to take! I remember meeting with my guidance counselor and I was just feeling lost on what I really wanted to do. So, I did what any young adolescent would do – I called my mom. She reminded me that I’d always loved cooking and baking when I was growing up. I realized she was right – and the next year, I signed up for a local culinary program. During culinary school, I was also working in a fine-pastry shop, a job I continued for several years until something awful happened: I turned 25 and got booted from Mom and Dad’s health insurance!

At this point, I had been working professionally in a kitchen for 3 years. It’s all fun and games until you realize you’ll have to work every weekend and pay for your own insurance. Cue a desk job! Fortunately, I found a great position with flexibility, benefits and weekends. Now let’s fast forward 10 years – What do you get when you mix my passion for creativity and sugar? Treats By Usha!
